Where will you take the dogs?
There are many off-leash friendly dog areas outside the town of Burlington (where there are strict leash laws). We will be walking or driving from one place to the other. in the summer there is Indian Brook Reservoir a favorite place to cool down. Plus many other trails in other towns. Lots more opportunities because there's lots more time!

Are you insured?
Yes! We are insured through Pet Sitters Associates, LLC.

Where is your facility?
We don't have a facility! That's what's so great about our daycare. The dog's are not stuck inside all day long inside 4 walls. They run free outside at safe areas. We do have to limit our route to 4 towns (Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski and Essex) and only pick up and drop off in these areas.

Can I enroll my dog in your daycare if I'm visiting town and looking for a place to drop my dog off?
Unfortunately, there's an initial consultation with paper work that takes time and the schedule is fixed with each dog getting it's own slot on a shift on a certain day. There will most likely not be an extra opening for a last minute Camp walk.

That's a lot of dogs. Will my dog be safe in a group that big?
Vermont Dog Pack Camp will have no more than 5-6 well behaved dogs in a group. The dogs are all rowdy for the first 30 minutes and then mellow out. They love to stick together as a group and I never have a hard time getting them to come since they know I'm fun and so isn't the pack! While there are always risks associated with your dogs being off-leash there are also a lot of benefits of having your dog off-leash socializing and exploring. I pick only safe dog areas away from roads and traffic. When we're traveling from one place to another the dogs will be on-leash or in the car. All dogs in the groups will be well socialized so you have the peace of knowing your dog is part of a healthy happy pack. The hours we are out and about really help too. We are out on weekdays when most people are working and we're out early in the morning. We don't run into many other dogs or people when we're out. We also promote Pack Leader Walks. Pack Leader Walks are a great way to be able to control the group emotionally and physically. It helps promote a well adjusted pack and balanced dogs.

My dog meets most of the requirements but still has a couple issues. Can they still come along for doggie daycare?
Unfortunately my policies are very strict. Every dog in the group must meet the requirements because one dog's issues can really hinder my ability to keep every dog safe.

My dog is little. Do they qualify for the Camp?
Definitely! I have little dogs on some of my shifts who do well. We walk at a slower pace for them but the dogs don't mind since they love to sniff everything! As long as your dog does well in the heat and in the cold they can join the Camp. There is always the option of enrolling them in the months they do better in.

How much off leash time are they really getting?
They always get at least 3 hours of off-leash play. Some dogs spend more time than other's in the car because of where they live. Some dog's get 3 1/2 hours of camp and others might get 5 hours. All they are missing out on is car time. I do not give discounted rates to people who's dogs get less time in the car.

Does Vermont Dog Pack Camp take interns or accept work for volunteer hours?
Every year I get calls and emails about Internships and other related volunteer activities. Camp is very strenuous and structured and there are a lot of liability issues that I unfortunately have to say no. If you are looking to come out and learn more about dogs in a pack and dog behavior please call me and anyone is always welcome to come out and play for the day and learn about dogs.
Even if you are a local competitor in the same business as I am you are always welcome to come out. Don't be shy!

Are you hiring?
Right now we are not hiring for the 2011/2012 Winter.
